(1) Explain ODM Concepts?
A) object Data manager: contains Database of system and device configuration information. Stores information of physical and logical objects, types of objects stored in ODM are .. predefined state, defined state, Available state. ODm info. is stored @ /etc/objrepos, /etc/lib/objrepos, /etc/share/lib/objrepos. For aix to work ODM And actual DB must be same.
(2) How do u create a filesystem on given LV?
(A) crfs -v jfs2 -d /dev/lvname -m /mountpt
(3) What is difference between jfs ans jfs2?
(A) JFS- inode allocation is static(fixed)
JFS2- inode allocation is dynamic.
JFS-- max FS size is 1TB for jfs2 it is 1PB
JFS- inode size is 128Bytes
JFS2- inode size is 512Bytes.
FYI:: The default block size of file is 4096Bytes. can be varied from 512B,1024B,2048B,4096B.
(4) what are the file responsible to tell about filesystem?
A) /etc/filesystems
(5) what is inode and superblock in FS?
A) Inode:: It is a indexnode which points to the another inode.it stores information of Owner of file, file permissions, last time file access, last time file modified, file created, location of data block, etc..
SuperBlock : First block of any FS and stores metadata like no of blocks in FS, total no of blocks used and free, no of inodes, inodes free, inodes used, etc..
